1335 AE - End of Dragons begins.


At a visit to Byorn's lodge, the norn asks Hedda to tell the tale of an old friend of his, now deceased, wanting to bring out more of the good in his friends legend.

Frey returns from the Far-Shiverpeaks.

Hedda is besides herself with joy to see her friend again, having missed him greatly.


Majime visits Ebonhawke on behalf of her father's company to trade with Lady Dunn.

Later, in Lion's Arch, she comes across a Canthan lady, who claims that she's traveled from Cantha recently, causing Majime to begin looking into the possibility of traveling there herself.


1334 AE


Gracelin gives birth to her 5th and 6th child. A boy named Howard and a daughter she names Caroline after her aunt. Both Gracelin and the children are weak and unwell after the birth and for a long time, the doctors as well as her husband fear for her life. Baloryn breaks contact with his mistress, fearing that it is his actions that has displeased the Gods and caused his wife and children’s illness.

It takes almost half a year before Gracelin has recovered and against all odds, both her children also survive.


Hedda attends a Wintersday moot at the Lodge of the old norn warrior Byorn.


1333 AE


Gracelin finds herself pregnant once more and she becomes increasingly isolated, feeling unwell and unable to eat and drink. Her staff is concerned, but before word can be sent to the Vigil Keep, Ebonhawke comes under a devastating attack from Primordius’ destroyers. It is only thanks to Moritoshi Takanami that Gracelin and her children are saved, as Dunn Manor burns to the ground and many people are killed in the attack. When Baloryn learns of the attack, he travels to Ebonhawke and finds his family settled in Moritoshi Takanami’s own home and his wife ill. It almost comes to blows between the two men, only the presence of the children keeps Moritoshi from harming his employer.

Hedda meets the charr Mist Warrior Stradetch in Lion's Arch and the two initially becomes friends. Oddly drawn to the charr, she invites him to join her at Snow's Edge, at a large seasonal moot where they spend a lot of time together before he travels back to Lion's Arch and the Mists.
Over the next many months, Hedda sees Stradetch whenever he comes back from the Mists, developing feelings for the broken-down warrior, she very well knows he'll never reciprocate. Unable to explain it to any of her friends, Frey especially, Hedda keeps her thoughts to herself and when Frey asks her to come with him to an archeological dig site in the Far-shiverpeaks, a place from norn history she has been dreaming of her entire adult life, she declines.
Frey leaves, but not before having confessed his own feelings for Hedda causing a terrible argument between the two friends. Frey argues, that she can find no future with Stradetch and that it has always been the expectations of their kin that they would eventually become partners and bond with each other. Hedda however, argues that it is not what she wants.

Gracelin gives birth to a daughter named Irene

Life in Ebonhawke returns to normal for Gracelin and Baloryn. Now with four children to care for as well as the TRO and other duties, they’re rarely seen outside the city, their arguments and disagreements on almost everything continues however and eventually Baloryn travels to the Vigil Keep to aid in training new recruits together with his sister Caroline. On his way there, while stopping in Lion’s Arch, he encounters Daraya with whom he begins a lengthy affair and not trying to hide the fact. He returns to visit in Ebonhawke on a regular basis, so gossip is at least kept to a minimum in Gracelin’s home.

Gracelin does not let on to anyone that she knows of Baloryn’s affair.


Baloryn meets with the Canthan weapons master Moritoshi Takanami whom he hires and sends to Ebonhawke to train Balor and Amir, while he himself remains at the Vigil.

Gracelin welcomes the new weapon master in her home and finds herself drawn to the remarkable man. She does her best to control her feelings after he kisses her and only a visit from her husband ensures nothing more happens between the pair.

Hedda lives her life in part traveling, in part at the Priory where she continues to study and narrow down her field further. No matter her interest in magic protection, spells and scrolls, she always ends up back amongst forgotten books and lost legends of years gone by. Having earned the name 'Taleteller' among her own kin, she finds herself far more excited by moots, markets and chance encounters where she's able to tell her tales and weave her magic to make her performances even more elaborate.

1331 AE


Sarah receives a surprising visit in the prison from Baloryn, her once-commander with the Separatists. Heartbroken to find her in such a state, he pours his heart out to her. They share less than two hours in her cell, before he is forced to leave with a promise that he'll see her set free.


Caroline learns that Baloryn has returned alive when Relnor rushes to the Vigil Keep to tell her. She rushes to Ebonhawke for the first time in five years, only to find that he has traveled to Elona with Yara to join his wife who is already there with the TRO in the wake of the dragon Kralkatorik's attack on the desert. Standing by her and in spite of his own mission in Elona, Relnor offers to take Carreen to Amnoon to reunite with her brother.


Gracelin and Baloryn are united in Elona. As a start, they continue where they left off. Unable to find common ground, until Caroline interferes and forces the couple to have a proper conversation about their life together.


Caroline remains in Elona, helping the TRO where she can and slowly recovers from her ordeal in Maguuma. She meets with Relnor when he docks in Amnoon, with supplies for the TRO.


Baloryn and Gracelin meet with Lady Visia, also from an Ascalonian house, in Elona. Working towards a match between their son, Balor and Lady Visia's niece Petra. A meeting in the Ascalonian Settlement is agreed upon at a later date.


While working with the refugees outside of Amnoon, Gracelin spends a lot of her time setting up an orphanage. Here she meets the Mahin siblings, Nour (10) and Amir (6). After three months, upon discovering that she's pregnant again, Gracelin introduced Baloryn to the children, suggesting that they adopt them before leaving Elona.


Baloryn re-proposes to Gracelin, who reveals to him that she is expecting their second child.

In order to protect his unborn child, and wife, Baloryn insists they return to the safety of their homes in central Tyria.

They both agree to arrange another pilgrimage to honor their past and the Gods, giving thanks for their son and expected child, as well as renew their vows.


Gracelin has no objections when Baloryn transfers a small portion of money and supplies to the Ebonhawke prison to Sarah, for her comfort.


At the request of Gracelin and Baloryn, Caroline agrees to spend the rest of her leave from the Vigil, in Elona to oversee the TRO while they travel home.

Relnor continues to travel between Elona and Kryta with whatever supplies Gracelin can find.


Daraya arrives in Amnoon, to oversee Relnor's assignments.


Gracelin and Baloryn arrive safely in Ebonhawke, a few weeks before the Mahin siblings, to prepare for their arrival and are reunited with their son.


Nour and Amir, arrive in Lion's Arch where Baloryn and Gracelin both meet them, before traveling to Ebonhawke together.


1330 AE


Gracelin travels with the TRO to Elona to aid the refugees in cooperation with the Priesthood of Kormir.


A ransom of an unknown amount is transferred to the Seperatist forces from Gracelin's private funds, securing her husband's return from the supposed captivity.

At the turn of the year, Baloryn returns to Ebonhawke and his household to spend a few days with his son, before traveling to Elona and his wife.


Daraya arrives in Elona with a small group, to carry out her missions.

1329 AE


Caroline returns from Maguma, suffering from a mysterious illness which keeps her isolated in the Vigil's care for months. Relnor, having made his way into the medical facility, remains by her side for the duration.


Daraya prepares to lead her forces back to Elona, still keeping Relnor busy and close to his targets.

1328 AE


Gracelin finds herself once more, under the protection, and control, of House Howard and her uncle who wishes her to remarry now that her mourning period is over.


Over half a year several potential candidates are investigated, some who reject marrying the widow with a young son, and eventually it is settled that Gracelin will marry Lord William Hawke, a friend of her uncles and much older than she.


During this time, Gracelin continues to run the TRO from Ebonhawke. Here she befriends a number of officers from the Vanguard and becomes very familiar with the area. During a supply run she is captured by a small group of Separatists and brought, with great care, to a cave. Here she is reunited with Baloryn who was injured and his armor removed, leading to his supposed death. Furious that she has been kept in the dark, Gracelin refuses to speak to him and tells him nothing of his son. Eventually she is let go, but after her return to Ebonhawke she regrets her actions and after a few months, she seeks out Baloryn and his men in the cave once more. This time with their son. The couple agrees to move past their arguments and to look for a way for Baloryn to return to his old life, for the sake of their son.


Gracelin remains in the primitive cave, with her son, for nearly a week before having to return to Ebonhawke and from there summoned by her uncle to Divinity’s Reach.


Once in Divinity’s Reach, Gracelin is informed of her impending marriage to Lord Hawke. She silently accepts her uncle’s bidding, expecting to find a way out of it together with Baloryn at a later date. Fortunately, Lord Hawke has no wish to marry before the end of the campaign against the Elder dragon Mordremoth. Gracelin is allowed to continue living in Ebonhawke while House Hawke and Howard carry on with the campaign against the dragon.


Gracelin and Baloryn continue to meet in secret in the Separatist cave, trying to come to an agreement about their future together, before Lord Hawke returns, expecting to marry Gracelin.


Sarah Madusan, is imprisoned in Ebonhawke, suspected of dealing with the Separatists.

While in prison, she gives birth to a son, whose care she leaves to Gracelin. The boy is later united with his father, Jon Cullis, and family.


1327 AE


Gracelin is contacted by a Separatist who claims to know the whereabouts of her husband.


Baloryn’s sword and armor is found amongst the bodies of the missing soldiers and he is declared dead.


Caroline refuses to accept the story of her brother's death, claiming that discarded armor isn't enough proof. She and Gracelin suffer through a loud argument over Baloryn's fate, Caroline claiming Gracelin's indifference to him. Eventually, Caroline walks out on her sister-in-law and leaves for the Vigil keep.


Gracelin begins her mourning period.


Lord Howard is executed for high treason alongside Lady Tate and several members of Houses Howard and Hawke.


House Howard is further punished by the Crown, putting them deep in debt and left to Gracelin’s uncle who is loyal to the Queen.


Gracelin returns an amount of land to House Howard, originally gifted to House Dunn as a wedding present, to save her uncle from ruin.


Lord Balor Dunn dies, leaving Gracelin’s son the only heir to House Dunn.


Gracelin becomes protector of House Dunn until her son becomes of age.


Gracelin is once again contacted by Separatists who claim they know of her husband’s whereabouts, however she turns them away, claiming his sword and armor as enough evidence that he is dead.


The newly made Lord Howard visits Gracelin to insist she begins preparations for a new marriage as soon as her mourning period is over. A list of names is made.


Gracelin leaves her home in Divinity’s Reach to her uncle and cousin and returns to House Dunn in Ebonhawk.


Caroline travels to Maguuma with the Pact to fight Mordremoth and its minions. She survives the initial attack on the Fleet and serves the remaining time in Maguuma with a grim attitude, barely speaking to anyone.

Hedda travels to the Silverwastes with other members of the Priory, having made her way through the ranks as an Arcanist. A particular grueling fight, defending their main camp against the Mordrem, leaves Hedda seriously wounded as a wine punctures her leg, almost causing her to bleed out before help arrives to push back the attackers.

1326 AE


Gracelin and Baloryn celebrate Wintersday and the new year together, slowly making their way to common ground.


Baloryn departs for Ebonhawk once more, leaving Gracelin in Divinity’s Reach in her father’s house.


The TRO takes part in the campaign against Scarlett Briar, overseen by Gracelin with the aid of Sarah Madusan and Lord Adir Madusan. The Madusan Mountaineers play a vital part in keeping the supply lines open.


A plot to overthrow the queen is discovered and Lord Howard, Lady Tate and Gracelin are arrested, alongside several members of the Coalition Houses. The plan to place a more Ascalon friendly ruler on the Krytan throne has been stopped and investigations begin into the plot. Lord Howard is arrested for high treason as one of the main backers of the plot.


Gracelin is put in house arrest for the duration of her father’s trial, only because she is pregnant and nothing can be found against her.


Baloryn returns briefly to Divinity’s Reach to ensure that house Dunn supports his wife and to show that he believes in her innocence. The pair has yet another falling out and Baloryn departs for Ebonhawke without telling his wife of his intentions to rejoin the Separatists.


Supported also by House Madusan, Gracelin is eventually set free, learning that Baloryn has gone missing in a skirmish with the Separatists in Ebonhawke. Now heavily pregnant, Gracelin remains in the small household of her husband’s in Divinity’s Reach, unaware of his fate, she regrets never telling him of the expected child and their last angry words..


Gracelin gives birth to her and Baloryn’s son and names him Balor Adir Dunn.


Returning from Orr, and traveling to Ebonhawke to look for her brother, Caroline is searched out by Relnor who pleads with her, and makes her understand and see reason. Restoring their friendship, he helps her organize a search for Baloryn, but they have no luck.

1325 AE


Gracelin (20) and Baloryn (25) are finally married in the Ascalon Settlement.


Baloryn moves House Dunn back to Ebonhawk and the Coalition follows.


Gracelin and Baloryn attempt to expand the Coalition of houses during a meeting in Ebonhawk, however they have little luck.


Several conflicts arise in the Dunn household between Gracelin and Baloryn.


Baloryn takes part, and is wounded in Operation Saddle-sore led by House Madusan.


Lord Adir Madusan’s niece, Sarah Madusan re-appears with her story.


Gracelin forms the Tyrian Relief Organization as a branch of the Coalition to better aid soldiers, and refugees, throughout Tyria.


A series of attacks on the TRO supply caravans takes place around Ebonhawke.


Gracelin learns that Baloryn has been offering information to the Separatists, allowing them to attack her caravans for supplies. A heated debate follows. But Gracelin, unable to turn her husband into the Vanguard, later agrees to turn a blind eye as long as no one is hurt.


Gracelin makes plans for the first Pilgrimage back to Ascalon from the gates of Divinity’s Reach, bringing with her supplies for every military outpost on the way. She is joined by Baloryn, a retinue from House Dunn, Howard and Madusan as well as other noble houses, Norn clans and a variety of guests from the city. The journey is far longer and more difficult than expected and several guests return home before the end.


Caroline joins the Pact and travels to Orr.

Before departing, Relnor confesses his secrets to her. Shocked and outraged by what he tells her, Carreen turns her back to him and ends their friendship.


Zheitan falls.


1324 AE


Peace negotiations between humans and Charr begin.


Baloryn’s unit is disbanded but several of his men join the Separatists, still eager to fight the Charr. Baloryn writes to Gracelin, describing his confusion and feelings about the peace with the Charr, but promises her that he will still return to marry her, leaving his unit behind as Separatists.


Struck down by the peace, Lord Dunn retreats to the top floor of his manor. Refusing to believe what has happened he is reduced to a sickly man, unable to carry out his duties.


Baloryn is made Lord Dunn.


Gracelin’s mother dies alone and ill in the Ascalon Settlement.


Lord Howard allows Gracelin to attend her mother’s funeral, however he causes a scandal by bringing Lady Tate.


Baloryn travels to Divinity’s Reach and sets up a small household, leaving most of his house in Ebonhawke.


Over the next months, Gracelin and Baloryn begin their duties, introducing themselves in Divinity’s Reach and Baloryn realizes the games he must learn to play in the city. The couple struggle to find common ground when sometimes alone, however their public selves are popular and often invited by other nobles.


Taking Relnor's advice, Caroline travels to join the newly created Vigil, unable to find her place in the Dunn household and in Ebonhawke after the peace with the Charr who now wander freely in the city.

Away from her home, Caroline is better able to understand the need for peace and begins working side by side with all the other races to aid in the crusade against Zheitan.


1323 AE


Gracelin returns to Divinity’s Reach to celebrate her eighteenth birthday. Unable to be there himself, Baloryn (23) sends her a letter with his regrets and her gift.


Due to the continued conflict between Charr and humans, Baloryn and Gracelin’s wedding is postponed, once more, until her 20th birthday.


1320 AE


Due to the continued conflict between the Charr and humans in Ebonhawk, Baloryn and Gracelin’s wedding is postponed until her 18th birthday.


Daraya instructs Relnor in a task involving Gracelin Howard. As he fails her, Daraya punishes him for the sake of education and instead sends him towards Caroline Dunn.


Gracelin begins her journey in Kryta and the Shiverpeaks to further her education, spending nearly a year with the Durmand Priory.


The Coalition works continuously on advancing in both Divinity’s Reach and Ebonhawke with mixed results.


Soldiers from House Dunn are lost in great numbers during the creation of the Dragonband, a serious blow to the house.


Lord Howard becomes a minister.


Lady Tia leaves the Queen's service due to illness and is rarely seen in public. In the years to come she refuses to divorce her husband and is slowly but surely pushed out by him.


Lady Tate becomes Lord Howards official mistress, taking part in his official duties.


Caroline (30) meets Relnor Belasnum in Ebonhawke, slowly forming a friendship.

During the Ogre Revolt, Caroline as well as a group of people from Ebonhawke are trapped in a cave, but with aid from Relnor and vanguard soldiers, everyone escapes unharmed.


Majime (15) takes steps to inherit the guardianship of the remains of the Esteemed Lord Taro Hasiniaki, a long dead ambassador to Kryta from Cantha, his dying wish to be returned home and buried with his ancestors. Having heard the story many times growing up, it comes as no surprise to the young woman.

1318 AE


Baloryn (18) visits Divinity’s Reach with a small retinue from Ebonhawk, to celebrate Gracelin’s thirteenth birthday. He gives her a necklace and a set of daggers from Ebonhawk.


Gracelin and Baloryn exchange letters on a regular basis over the next seven years.

Gracelin overhears arguments between the Coalition leaders. Disagreements as to how involved they should be in Kryta politics, commoners and the poor, has Gracelin make a promise to the Gods, that she will one day make efforts to support those in need.

At the same time, she also promises to always be composed, in control and always do her husband's bidding, never showing if she disagrees.


1317 AE

Freystein manages to convince Hedda that her future isn't as a warrior. Together with him Hedda travels to the Priory and here she begins her studies, finding that she's already on par with many of her fellow students at the old monastery.

1316 AE


Jennah is crowned queen of Kryta.


Lord Howard moves his wife and daughter to Divinity’s Reach.


Lady Tia and other ladies from the Coalition are placed in the Queens service.

Miss Ivery marries Master Thomas and Gracelin (11) loses her governess.

Lady Aya Tate, whispered to be Lord Howard's mistress, instead becomes Gracelins chaperone.


1315 AE


Gracelin turns ten.


Baloryn (15) travels with a large retinue from House Dunn to meet his fiance for the first time.


Gracelin and Baloryn are officially engaged during their first meeting at her birthday party. Baloryn presents his young fiancé with a promise ring and she gifts him a two handed sword.


Plans are made for Baloryn’s future military and diplomatic career and he travels back to Ebonhawke to complete his Guardian training.


Gracelin begins her formal education as the future Lady Dunn.


Sarah Madusan (15) runs away from her home, refusing to marry a much older merchant. It is claimed that she has died from illness and nothing more is heard of her for the next ten years.



1312 AE


Daraya, now an operative within the Whisperes, is assigned to train and educate Relnor Belassum.

Freystein joins the Durmand Priory, while Hedda still hopes to become a legendary warrior. She spends much of her time studdying legends, researching and re-telling tales to travellers who pass the homestead and eventually also at the lodge moots.

1310 AE


Gracelin (5) continues her studies with a proper teacher, Master Thomas, who educates the young girl to standards required by her father.


Baloryn (10) begins his initial military studies and subsequently his Guardian training.


Lady Claire Dunn dies from illness.


Caroline is forced to step in as Lady Dunn, taking care of the Dunn house hold her father and grifstricken younger brother. She continues to steal away to learn from the city crafters and is often seen in the company of soldiers and common people of Ebonhawke.

1308 AE


Miss Ivery is hired as Gracelin’s (3) governess.


1307 AE

Hedda's mother leaves her father for another man, however she is found dead a few days later, killed by Svarnir. Rumor has it that it was her husband who made a deal with the Sons, which ended in his wife's death. Thie relationship having been bad for years.
Unwilling to live with her father, Hedda instead moves south to Lornar's Pass and Snow's Edge Homestead, where her paternal-grandfather is the lodgemaster.

Hedda becomes friends with Freystein Alfson. A loner who doesn't fit into a typical norn community. Much the same could be said for Hedda herself, who in spite dreaming of becoming a great warrior, shows little promise in that direction.

Caroline meets Quartermaster Yara and begins learning from her as much as possible. Her father dislikes it, but allows it.

1305 AE


Gracelin Howard is born in the Ascalon Settlement as the only child to Lord Theodore and Lady Tia Howard.


As pr. The Coalition Houses’ contract, it is settled that Gracelin and Baloryn will marry on her 15th birthday.


Baloryn (5) begins his schooling.


Caroline (15) is severely wounded, left disfigured, by a Charr mortar attack on Ebonhawke. Managing to shield her younger brother from the debris and shrapnel, only she is hurt.


The intended marriage between Adir and Caroline is broken off by Lord Madusan.


Daraya joins the Order of Whispers.


Majime Tadao is born in Divinity’s Reach, in the Ossan Quarter to wealthy parents as the oldest daughter. She lives an unremarkable life the first fifteen years of her life, being raised to study and one day inherit a duty, having been within the family for more than two hundred years.

Hedda Björksdottir is born in the Shiverpeaks.

Caroline begins schooling. A future marriage to Lord Madusan's youngest son, Adir, is arranged.


1300 AE


Lady Sarah Madusan is born as the youngest child to Lord Sohail Madusan on their estate in Queensdale.


Baloryn Dunn is born in Ebonhawk as the second child, but first son, of Lord Balor and Lady Claire Dunn

The last remaining heir of House White is killed in battle against the Charr. Over the next ten years, House White is dissolved and many of its members absorbed into the remaining houses of the Coalition.

Divinity’s Reach is founded.


The Coalition agree that houses Howard, Hawke and Madusan travel to the new city, making attempts to settle at the center of power through trade, military aid and diplomacy. Though most of the households remain in the settlement, working the land to provide for their masters.

Houses Dunn and White remain in Ebonhawke.

The Charr take Ascalon city.


King Adelbern invokes the Foefire.

King Adelbern recalls the Ebon Vanguard.


Ebonhawke is established.


The military aligned noble houses, White, Dunn and Hawke settle in Ebonhawke.


Houses Howard and Madusan remain in the Ascalon Settlement.

Following their Prince, a large group of people flee to Kryta to start a new life, away from the Charr.


Among them are almost all the members of the Five Houses Coalition, however many perish on the journey.

The Searing.


The Charr invades Ascalon.


A coalition of noble houses come together to fight the invaders, swearing to uphold their way of life. The Five House Coalition, consists of House Howard, House Dunn, House Madusan, House White and House Hawke.
